John Hiatt & The Combo
John Hiatt & The Combo
John Hiatt’s career as a performer and songwriter has spanned more than 35 years and everyone from Bob Dylan, Eric Clapton, BB King, Bonnie Raitt, and Iggy Pop has covered his work. He has played a variety of musical styles on his albums including Country, Blues, and Soul; and has been nominated for several Grammy Awards. Known for captivating crowds with his exceptional guitar performances and enthusiasm, Hiatt has been called “...one of rock’s most astute singer-songwriters of the last 40 years” by the Los Angeles Times. This summer Hiatt and his extraordinary band, The Combo, are touring in support of his critically acclaimed album Mystic Pinball. Known for their vibrant live performances, The Tennessean describes the experience saying “He prowls the stage, delivering the bluesy stuff in a whiskey-burn howl, shouting the rock stuff and fronting a formidable band that can turn on a dime, from ballads to bombast.”
Taj Mahal Trio
Taj Mahal Trio
Composer, multi-instrumentalist and vocalist Taj Mahal is one of the most prominent and influential figures in late 20th century blues and roots music. Though his career began more than four decades ago with American blues, he has broadened his artistic scope over the years to include music representing virtually every corner of the world – west Africa, the Caribbean, Latin America, Europe, the Hawaiian islands and so much more. What ties it all together is his insatiable interest in musical discovery. Over the years, his passion and curiosity have led him around the world, and the resulting global perspective is reflected in his music today.
